Game Plot:
The World Ends With You takes place in a fictional version of Shibuya in Tokyo, Japan. The Game takes place in two areas, the RG (Realground) and the UG (Underground) People in the UG cannot talk to people in the RG beacuse people in the RG cannot hear or see them. The RG is where all the regualt people live and everyday life goes on, the UG is know as the Reapers chess bord, and a game is held. The game that is held in the UG is a game to determine if someone deserves a second chance at life, because all the people in the UG were once alive. The player of the game have to survive for one week, against the noise while trying to complete missions that are sent by the Reapers. The Reapers are people against the players who summon noise to erase players.

Neku, the main protagonist dies and doesn't know how he did because he has lost all his memories. Neku wakes up and recives a message on his cell-phone and does not know what to do, yet he sees the noise and has to run away from them. Eventually he runs into Shiki, another person in the UG and makes a Pact with her so that the noise will not attack either of them anymore. Neku, a person who does not trust or like anyone will have to learn friendship and trust to survive the game.
